Heard a loud pop and tinkling of glass, ran into the bathroom to find anothr coupel of bottles exploded. Here's the aftermath:
So we had to salvage what we could, opening up the surviving bottles to release the pressure and then transfering what was left back into a carboy to finish fermenting. I guess I was pretty successful at fermenting honey and water LOL
I'd rushed into the bathroom barefooted, hubby right behind me. He looked down and told me to NOT stand up while he removed a large piece of glass that would have been under my foot if I had done so. EEP! I looked around and realized how much glass was lanched out of the bathtub. I think I got it all cleaned up. Ended up slicing a bit of my left index finger getting a big sliver out of the drain and hubby had a small slice from a sliver stuck to a bottle he was opening, but outside of that, no other injuries were incurred.
There is a reason we called this an experimental batch. Now we know the proportions of honey, water and yeast were correct we'll do a full batch, this time we'll let it sit in the carboy for as long as possible hehehehehehe.
